THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION
Everyone feels depressed from time to time, but when the depression lasts for a couple weeks or more, it can become problematic. Depression can be a sign that there is a need to make changes in your life, that there is a loss that needs to be mourned, or it can just be a change in physiology. Whatever the cause, it can be hard to get out of the depression on your own because it can make you feel hopeless, isolated, and fatigued. It can cause difficulties with concentration and alter your perception and thoughts to allow depressive ideas to take over your mind.
There is hope because depression is treatable through psychotherapy. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we can help you to change your depressive thinking, make behavioral changes so you're less isolated, and help you begin to have more energy. Using Narrative Therapy, we can externalize the depression and combat its negative effects on your life. We can help you focus on your strengths and explore the strategies that are effective to fight off depression. By using Postive Psychology techniques, we can help to increase positivity, happiness, and a sense of meaning to protect you against relapse from depression.
