BULLYING

Bullying

Getting messed with, picked on, teased, or beat up can cause a lot of difficulties such as anxiety, difficulty with anger management, depression, poor school performance, or other problems.  These symptoms can be problematic for those who bully others as well.  My graduate school research was focused on bullying problems in schools.  I conducted research with middle school students to gain a greater understanding of problems related to bullying.  Through using a three pronged approach, we can address bullying by helping the victim develop skills to respond to bullying, obtain interaction for the bully themselves, and to increase awareness and supervision by adults to keep the child safe.  Together, we work to hold build social skills, grit, and to work with the school or other systems to change the dynamics, so kids don't have to live in fear or try to avoid to solve this problems.

To make an appointment for an assessment and/or discuss recommendations for treatment, call  (415) 686-9544 or email [email protected]  I have offices in San Francisco and Corte Madera and provide phone and/or web sessions for clients who can not come to the office.
